Don’t think so, they revealed that someone was inside the Kaijiu last season
- Comment on What is your best anime-related song? 2 weeks ago:
So many… Only counting inserts, OPs and EDs, here are some of my favourites:
- The AoT insert songs are incredible and this suite is even better.
- Grand Escape from Weathering With You
- Suzume’s title track
- unravel, as cliche as it is
- The Garden of Sinners EDs
- Land of the Lustrous OP
- Watashi Dake Yurei (the SICKHACK song from BTR).
- Original Spice and Wolf openings
- Voracity by MYTH & ROID from overlord
- Hunting Soul from Dandadan
- Might be recency bias, but the OPs from With You In The Rain and Clevatess
- Fate/Stay Night Heaven’s Feel EDs by Aimer

In this specific case I think it’s more of a western thing
Totally, since it’s not a common name.
- Comment on Reading Berserk legally in EU 2 weeks ago:
Damn, that’s unfortunate. Unfortunately licenses are still country-based. Just to double check: make sure you’re filtering on English titles. Kobo defaults to searching only in my native English for me and then it finds nothing.
- Comment on Reading Berserk legally in EU 2 weeks ago:
Do you mean from an EU company or just generally available in the EU?
In case of the latter: I’d recommend Kobo. I use that for most of my digital manga reading

Tbf, isn’t that the case with most Japanese names in anime? Or any foreign name tbh. For example, my name is very close to an English name, just pronounced differently, but even after spelling out how it would be pronounced if I were to spell it in a way that matches English, it took quite a while for my English friends to pronounce it correctly.

I could try it. How heavy is it on the horror aspects? I tend to stay away from that.

Apart from that my fall 2025 recommendation is to get caught up on other stuff
Fair haha. Slow season I guess then
- Comment on Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion Thread [2025, Week 51] 2 weeks ago:
I’ve slowly started to try to catch up with this season, but so far, I’ve not liked any of them except Gachiakuta and May I Ask.
- Dark History Villainess: pacing is all fucked up. It’s as if I’m watchibg a summary. Dropped after 3 eps
- Mangaka’s Workplace: couldn’t stand the MC. I don’t typically mind characters like her, but she seemed super over the top anxious for no reason and over the same thing the entire time. Well for the time I watched it anyway. Dropped after 1 ep.
- Pass The Monster Meat: started out fine, but after a couple of eps it became messy. Dropped it after 5 eps.
If anyone has fall 2025 suggestions, I’m open for it (as long as it’s on CR and Netflix. Can’t be bothered to pirate atm).

Mostly Mangadex tbh. Very occassionally Weeb Central, Mangafire or Mangafox

I finished That’s My Atypical Girl after someone recommended it here. It’s quite good. I like how it deals with several heavy topics. Many manga have a tendency to make it a bit torture-porn-ish with topics like that, but this one stays grounded and almost a little detached, which fits well with the themes of the manga.
Not all plotthreads were finished up however, which was a bit anticlimactic. That also does kind of fit with the theme of the manga, but it didn’t feel intentional.

However, it is also confusing as hell
I have had no idea what’s going on since this tea ceremony thing started haha
- Comment on Amazon’s AI ‘Banana Fish’ Dubs Are Hilariously, Inexcusably Bad 4 weeks ago:
It’s impossible to dub every single anime at a reasonable time.
I mean, not really. For all already existing ones, maybe, but for new ones? No reason for it to be impossible. The Japanese dub doesn’t appear out of thin air.
- Comment on Are there any other anime with beautiful depictions of light and color like in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End? 4 weeks ago:
Anything by director Naoko Yamada is amazing.
Apothecary Diaries has gorgeous looking moments too.
- Comment on [DISC] Blooming Love - Final Chapter 4 weeks ago:
them back in art classroom was nice end setup
I totally agree! I think that was perfect, it’s just that something was lacking in the lead up to it.
- Comment on [DISC] Blooming Love - Final Chapter 4 weeks ago:
I think this is a good place to end it, but it was a little underwhelming to be honest. They met up like nothing happened, which was nice in its own way, but idk, I expected a little more drama or time together I guess. Maybe just 1 more chapter of them being back together to let their reunion simmer a little bit.

I saw the trailers, but can’t say I’m excited for it. The 3D animation looked pretty bad.

Caught up with Gachiakuta and May I Ask For One Final thing. The former I’m starting to care less about, the latter is great. Just as enjoyable as the manga.

Yeah, I’m kinda over it at this point tbh. Probably better to take a short hiatus to figure out where to go rather than leaving it weirdly meandering like this.

Saw the trailers and tbh, the janky 3D animation and sometimes models really put me off

True, but the reason for the vitriol is because most mediocre anime aren’t nearly as popular as SAO.

I think there’s a 50% chance we went to the same theater, because I also went to see The Colors Within yesterday
Haha, yeah, quite likely.
slight plot hole
Hm, maybe, but they were quite lenient with other things in the ends so…
Still a weird experience to go to the mainstream cinema and see an anime film in a packed house, though. That would have been unthinkable a few years ago.
Hmm, I don’t know. It wasnt in any cinemas near me, so it depends on where you are I guess. Bigger cities generally have a wider variety of audiences.

I tried Code Geass as my 1st anime and dropped it 1st episode haha. I didn’t like the OP and the artstyle. Apparently that was enough at the time.
Then I tried SAO (I know), and here I am, 12-13 years later: weeb and still haven’t watched Code Geass.
- Comment on Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion Thread [2025, Week 47] 1 month ago:
Haven’t really had the brain space to pick up anything from this season yet, but I did watch two anime films yesterday in the theater: Chainsaw Man: Reze’s Arc and The Colors Within.
CSM: I didn’t like S1 much.I thought it was okay at best. But this film was incredible. Denji is a much more human here and Reze is just incredible. She really stole the show. Visually it’s a big upgrade too imo. More vibrant and better movement. And man, that soundtrack was so good. Kensuke Ushio doesn’t fail to deliver.
The Colors Within: the theater I went to ocassionally has anime film showings outside of the release schedule, and they showed this one this time. Great movie as expected of Naoko Yamada, also with a great soundtrack by Kensuke Ushio. Bit of a tonal whiplash to see it right after CSM though haha.

Ah right, personal preference is fair.
I do think that explosive/hype music would’ve been out of place though, looking at the more introspective and mysterious themes of the show.
- Comment on ‘5 Centimeters Per Second’ to get live-action film adaptation | The Asahi Shimbun: Breaking News, Japan News and Analysis 1 month ago:
Hmm, but one of the biggest reasons for its success is the art. You’d need to replicate that somehow in live action, otherwise it’s just pointless tbh
