There’s a moment, early on in Mirror’s Edge, where the game stops explaining itself and lets motion do the talking.
Still an awesome game

I loved this game. The sequel was actually pretty decent too, but nowhere near as good as the first imo. A rare case of a branch of EA making a good game that doesn’t just feel like a cash grab. Maybe that’s because it was made in 2008 though.

Great gameplay, but also a great soundtrack and general world aesthetic too
All neatly packaged in a game that doesn’t outstay its welcome
Hard to imagine EA making anything like this today

Catalyst is pretty good but I think making it more open takes away the urgency of free running, and that’s the most important part.

Yeah, I’d probably agree with that. Some games are just better being tighter and more closed off. I love open world and semi-open world games but it’s not always appropriate.
