  I feel that. Most of my twenties were spent kinda flailing without much plan since I wasn’t expecting to still be alive.

  I mean…I’ve very nearly been killed enough times that most of the time I just consider every day a bonus. Kind of the same thing, but not quite.

  Doctors told my mom she had a “twisted uterus” and could never have children. My entire existence has been a big Fuck You to medical science.

  I grew up near the ocean and had frequent dreams of drowning. We had 3 tsunami evacuations before I was 17. Not to mention severe untreated depression that started when I was 13. I was 100% convinced I wasn’t going to survive high school, one way or another.

  Back in the eighties I fully expected the bombs to drop any day and we got pretty close a couple of times. Then came a period of relative calm where you could allow yourself to think, that maybe things might start to get better. Then came Dubya. And here we are.

  Same man, same. I thought 30 was it for me, and the reason I say that is that I’ve abused different substance and rarely took care of myself. Plus was on a drinking spree since I’ve always felt I was gonna die at 30. Now I’m 6 years past it and I’m like fuck, I guess I’ll continue the game.
