For clarification, Discord.io is not an official Discord site but a third-party service allowing server owners to create custom invites to their channels.
Discord.com is the chat service so unless you’ve used discord.io, you are hopefully not impacted by the breach.

Yes. Even though this one wasn't a discord breach, it's bound to happen sooner or later. But your data is probably already being sold, even without a breach, as the founder of discord is known to (illigally iirc) sell customer data, before he even founded discord.
Platforms that store everything in one central server pose a risk to the security and privacy of user data.
You got a source on that claim? Pretty serious if true
