Which pisses me off. I worked for over 40 years and probably paid a million dollars in taxes and now i’m on Social Security just scraping by. SNAP is very helpful and I am grateful to have it. Now, all of a sudden, people like me are the bad guys. Most people on SNAP are elderly, disabled and working class.

To me it is the likes of Frosted Flakes, lunch meat, frozen chicken wings, frozen pizza, canned soup. Food that is ultra processed, high in fat, sodium and sugar and low in fiber and nutrients.
According to The Network Science Institute at Northeastern University, they found that 70% of food in US supermarkets is unhealthy, ultra processed food.
A UC Davis study found that 89% of food in the checkout lane is unhealthy.
Americans get over half of their “nutrition” from ultra processed foods.
If you really want to make Americans healthier, you need better health education and regulating the food industry.

It’s not about what kind of food people on assistance are getting. They don’t care about that even one little bit. It’s about control and being able to punish people they think are inferior to themselves.
It also doesn’t matter if that’s where they came from either, Vance grew up on assistance.
They’re just psychotic assholes.

I was just thinking that this will only affect poor people. Middle and upper class people will continue to stuff themselves with crap and end up with chronic diseases so it won’t really help improve the health of Americans.
