    Dumb, isn’t the whole point of notepad that you see the text without any graphical interpretation of the source contents?

        ok, I just checked. They are using markdown and they have the option to not show it as formatted. Considering this is a very common format (Im using it now to write this comment) and you can view it as plaintext, this is actually a useful feature.

    Ah, so since MS discontinued Wordpad, they figured they’d turn Notepad into Wordpad. I see.
