A federal judge has granted Meta-owned WhatsApp’s request for a permanent injunction blocking Israeli cyberintelligence company NSO Group from targeting the messaging app’s users. At the same time, the judge dramatically reduced the fine that NSO Group must pay to Meta.
Yeah this will work…
“We hereby enjoin you from doing the illegal thing you were doing, and decrease the fine we were going to give you for doing it.”
Interesting timing, as NSO is now owned by US investors.
Meta doesn’t want to complete with the NSO Group in stealing user’s information.
Oh the irony… A company known for spying on its users and selling that to data brokers blocking spyware.
