Dunno if this is true or not but it sure as hell feels that way.
I think its much more likely that there’s still just a big gender gap in entertainment (especially in comedy). Comedy is still a primarily male dominated field in the mainstream, so it feeds into itself. Unless shows are willing to go out of their way to find women (for example the most recent run of After Midnight), then its still just going to continue being primarily male dominated spaces.
I doubt it’s a big factor. Pretty much any big event or any TV stuff is going to involve a bunch of dicking about. Hollywood is full of actresses, and lots of them have to turn up on set at 5am to get into makeup and wait around for six hours before getting told the shooting schedule has changed and they won’t be needed til tomorrow.
Hollywood pays better than panel shows. Panel shows run thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, per episode. Movies can run into tens or hundreds of millions.
Sure, movies pay more than panel shows, but you get lots of women working as but as extras, even though it really doesn’t pay well and involves kf lot of hassle.
But more importantly, why do you think that women are more sensitive or opposed to waiting around? Not sure it’s a trait or stereotype that aligns with my experience. Guys can be plenty impatient and think they’re too important to wait around like a pleb.
What are panel shows?
As an American I think one of the best things to come out of British TV.
A game show played by a panel, usually of comedians, where the game is merely a pretext for the entertainment along the way. Usually there’s no prize or a token prize at the end. Very cheap TV. Perhaps the most popular panel show at the moment is QI.

Depends on the show.
If Roisin Conaty is on 9 out of 10 cats does countdown I will give the episode a skip. But in Taskmaster and Big fat quiz she is good.
