Today’s game is some more Mario Galaxy. I finished it up today after gathering the last few stars i need. The last few levels were hell, it felt like there was a sharp difficulty spike. Nonetheless i persevered. After this? I might try Sunshine. I could never get into it, but i want to give it a try again. If i go on to Galaxy 2 it certainly won’t be 40$. I think i’ll stick to the original on Wii thank you, regardless of 4K or not.
The bowser fight threw me for a loop because i could have sworn it was like the fight in Galaxy 2 where you have to ground pound the orbs, just with one less wave.
Lava spire galaxy gave me some trouble too because the Lava rose way too fast for me too keep up. Luckily i nailed a good backflip and saved a ton of time on my 3rd try though.
The view from first person is beautiful in this game though. I really wish i had spent more time looking at it from other angles because it’s really cool seeing all the parts of the world you may miss.
Anyways, that’s the gist of today, did the last few stars i needed, struggled, and got my ass handed too me nearly by the Parkour more so than Bowser. I don’t think i’ll be going in to 100% it, or even just collect all the stars because i think completing the game took enough out of me. It was fun though, thinking back i though i beat the game as a child, but now i don’t think so.

I never played Galaxy 2. I liked the first, but I actually preferred Sunshine. Galaxy just seemed smaller to me. I liked that it was different, and maybe part 2 would’ve improved on the engine, but I just thought the first was almost like a gimmick.
Sunshine was gimmicky too, but it felt more complete overall. But yeah, not sure 1+2 is worth $70. I get that Microsoft and Sony have other things to fall back on, but Nintendo is asking too much this time for 15-18 year old games. $50 is more like it.

I played 2 with a friend a few years ago. 2 literally felt like more Galaxy. Which is great if you want more Galaxy, not so much if you want to try something a bit new

Personally I didn't like Galaxy 1 very much, but loved 2 as much as using a Wiimote allows. Came down to more level variety with better design and being more challenging I guess. Hard to remember, never replayed either game.
I can't stand Sunshine however. Multiple revisits trying to get into it, but it's just with how Mario controls. Very SSB Melee twitchy which I don't like.
