  The end of Serie? I’m not convinced yet. She very well may be using that as a pretext for having an unguarded conversation. However, I could see it happening. At the end of the day, Serie isn’t the main character, and her death could be an interesting emotional moment for Frieren.

    It’s also possible that even though Serie herself can’t find a path to victory Serie’s pupils will surprise her. It wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened.

      I like this train of thought. They emphasize so much that magic is about visualization, so even if Serie can’t visualize a way out of this situation, perhaps one of the other mages can. Frieren has admitted to underestimating Fern, so it would fit that Serie is doing the same thing.
