Like xonotic, opensrena, red eclipse, warfork, alien arena, etc. are they ever active or are they completely dead?
Found games on hypersomnia(stick arena like shooter), assaultcube, and et legacy.
I know red eclipse is under active development, but I think its parent project Sauerbraten might have more players. I haven’t checked in years though.
Some people still play Armagetron but I don’t like play with them because they’re too pro.
armagettron was very fun over lan on school pcs back in highschool, i put it in the school directory so everyone could copy it over whenever lol

Haven’t checked in on it in a while, but I’d be surprised, if Teeworlds wasn’t still going strong.

Xonotic still has a few servers running and 385 players yesterday
wtfs wrong with my xonotic, i only see like 2 servers not full max when i check
Hmm, are you on an up-to-date version? Could also be a timezone thing, though, like maybe there’s an active community in India, which plays when you’re asleep or whatever.
Maybe the future of this is platforms like S@box letting ppl make their own mp games and having them be accessible from one location. Probably not realistic, but would be sick if all these fossgames had one portal/serverbrowser to access them from.
Zandronum was the Doom server browser of choice, at least 4 years ago or so. Even will auto download the mods the server is running (if the admin configured things right).
For games where there is a list of servers, it would be cool to have a central software like gamespy to let players know where the other players are.

Space Station 14 is one of my favourite games, but it can be very confusing to start playing and definetly isn't for everyone.
