Birthed on YouTube during the Covid-19 pandemic spreading conspiracy theories about vaccinations and a cabal of global elites, the party broke into mainstream politics with its “Japanese First” campaign.
That’s like an Amish politician having his main platform be he’s anti computer.
Japan is not known for having any/many immigrants, as it is. Expats generally avoid it for high cost of living.
I was an expat living in Japan during the pandemic. I actually think they have great cost of living. My apartment in Osaka was like $575/month for a very modern place. Food is more expensive in the states but you really don’t need a car.
If these people get elected watch Japan’s demographic crisis worsened.
