Some particles of light begin their journey in the Sun, then they travel for 8 - 9 minutes to Earth, only to end up blinding some ape as they’re hurdling down a stone road in a two ton explosion-powered locomotive.

The sun hasn’t changed. We’ve just been spending decades altering the atmosphere to retain more heat. Now it’s like a boulder rolling down a hill, we gave it a push, and now that it’s rolling, getting it to even slow down is going to take a major effort.

And the ocean has been an absolute champ at taking a bunch of that heat and hiding it away in the deep. But can’t really keep up any more. Which is fair.
