    If you think it’s “mind-boggling” then you need to drive more. Take the dash cam footage from my drive to work on any day and you’ll find plenty of people driving dangerously and illegally. Throw the book at them.

    SAPOL introduced something similar last year, specifically to target people who use their phones while driving. They issued 64,454 letters in the first three months lol

    WA has a population of 3 million. That’s equivalent to one in 20 people being detected.

    Nobody is going to get fined for having a drink in their hand though. There’s no way of proving from a photo that it’s alcoholic. I’m not sure about WA, but it was legal in VIC to drink whilst driving up until the last few years (I think 2017).

    The dog law is a clear law. The cameras absolutely can and should detect and issue fines for that.

      Driving a van and truck around Melbourne, way more than 1/20 are fucking about with their phones.
