My previous account was @dumblederp@aussie.zone I left it because Rowling has turned out to be a pretty shitty person and I don’t want the association.
Mostly I’m just here for idle friendly conversation over shared interests.
I can get caught up in my own stubbornness on some topics.
- Comment on 150 police visits in 20 months: Indigenous mother takes action after her boys subjected to ‘relentless’ checks 6 days ago:
Fucking disgusting.
Even from a dystopian point of view at that point they may as well have ankle monitors, 150 visits from 3-6 cops would’ve cost a fortune. Now that I write that out I reckon the cops have found an overtime loophole.
- Comment on Nearly 90% of jobseekers unable to get long-term work despite millions spent on private job agencies 1 week ago:
Ditch the lot and move to UBI. The few people I know who are long term unemployed would do better with support rather than the light dehumanisation of forced job searching.
When I was with a JSA, they recommended the same factory job every month for ten months until I found myself a job.
- Comment on What is Red Rover, to you? 1 week ago:
Depends on the numbers but usually there’d be 25% in the middle and 75% trying to run from one side to the other. Everyone taken down gets added to the middle.
It might’ve been aus kick, I never got into AFL. I remember going a few times and being amazed that kids I went to school with knew all this footy stuff cos their families did.

- Comment on Battlefield 6 players are crying out for a 'real' server browser, and it's about time we demanded the basic FPS feature that Call of Duty killed 2 months ago:
BF6 is the only thing keeping me on windows. If they don’t include a server browser I’m not buying it.
- Comment on Butter made from carbon tastes like the real thing, gets backing from Bill Gates 2 months ago:
Sounds like more of an actual air fryer. Maybe they can cook stuff in fatty gas rather than dropping it in oil.

- Comment on Misogyny is thriving in our schools. Why aren’t we doing more? 3 months ago:
The Manosphere is a problem all over the world. Turning men against women is another distraction from the class war. We all need to be turning against billionaires, but it’s hard to convince young people/men of that.
