  you want the real answer or a meme one?

  real answer: night flying bugs use bright stars/moon to navigate, they choose a light source, and try to maintain an angle with it. but if there’s an artificial light and the angle they choose is less than 90° they will spiral towards it, otherwise they fly away, but you can’t tell because they are in the dark.
