      It’s phenomenal, IMO. It cuts back and forth between action scenes and a philosophical dialogue between a human and a superintelligent AI he created

  IIRC James Cameron intended Terminator 2 to end the series. The monologue at the end was full of hope that everything had changed and the future wasn’t written in stone.

  Then the studio saw dollar signs and shit all over the message.

    Yeah. Imo, T3/Resistance and all the other slop are alternate timelines. The main timeline ends with T2, as far as I’m concerned.

    No fate but what we make is more about trying to prevent judgment day, and the need for the resistance to happen at all, from happening.

  That’s the thing about whether or not the universe is deterministic or not, it actually makes no difference

  Your behaviour won’t change. If you think you have free-will when you don’t, you’ll still act the same as you would if you have free will

  I believe this is disproven by the last movie (Dark Fate) and a boot strap theory using Salvation’s Marcus (apparently their is a boot strap theory with Sarah Conner too).
