My company just helped move 2 workers to our Canada office whose visas were denied to be renewed in U.S. They had been in the U.S. for years but apparently government was like no, not anymore.

I kinda figured the H1B visas would be spared, since Elmo is a will known abuser of that program, along with most of silicone valley.

US still pay better than a lot of other countries relatively speaking and despite Republicans our level of open corruption is still lower than many others at least for now.

Everything is relative. I live in Vietnam where tech people make a tiny fraction of what they could make in the US and quality of life would be significantly better despite the risk of dealing with ICE and other barriers.
