This week I'm reading 'Hamnet' by Maggie O'Farrell.
It's for a book discussion next week and I have to admit, I'm disappointed in it. The film got tons of acclaim (I still need to see it), and the book has been reasonably well received. But it's not really anything special, just pretty standard historical fiction so far and doesn't really try to do anything new or different.
I am also listening to 'Lies Sleeping' by Ben Aaronovitch.
I'm going to be very sad when I run out of Rivers of London books. I was thinking the other day that this series would be really good for a TV adaptation. I'd definitely watch it, until it inevitably gets cancelled after 2-3 seasons.
I also wonder if I can replace the library's collection of MMPBs of this series, for newer trades if they're available. They would look more appealing on the shelf.
