      Ronald Regan eliminated the Fairness Doctrine allowing Fox and other propaganda mouthpieces of the christofascists to broadcast a constant stream of lies until enough of the American public believed it that the christofascists could leverage their seething hatred born out of years of resentment at being made to feel dumb (by the intellectual elites), intolerant (by the woke), backwards (by the progressives), etc. The christofascists leverages the apparatus of the GOP funded by billionaire oligarchs to turn that seething hatred into a willingness to vote against their own self-interest.

      Two conservatives ran. One was actively doing a genocide and the other one just really wanted to do a genocide. One was doing border fascism and the other just really wanted to do it. Her final pitch to the electorate was with a war criminals daughter.

      You can’t run as the good guy while doing those things and expect your base to show. And it didn’t. In fact, Harris was the only person to ever lose the popular vote to Trump because she didn’t appeal to her base. She appealed to non fascist republicans, which don’t exist.
