I was looking through suggestions of novels for Native American/First Nations Heritage Month, and there is a definite pattern. So many of the books are a working through of trauma, in powerful ways.
I added quite a few books to my TBR. The one I will probably get to first is Stephen Graham Jones' latest: Off The Reservation (horror), which is the sequel to The Only Good Indians.
Some TBR additions that look really promising:
Legendary Frybread Drive-In: Intertribal Stories, Cynthia Leitich Smith, Kate Hart, Eric Gansworth, et al.
Eliza Sunshine, Michelle Good
Shards of Science, Brian Lee Young
Also: longshot, but if anyone knows where I can find a copy of The Levitationist by Brandon Hobson, lmk. It might be impossible.
