SLANTWISE HISTORIES, by Alix E. Harrow. 4.5 stars out of 5. Very strong collection of stories, which move those who exist on the margins of life and society into more powerfully centered roles.
The stories are organized into three sections, designated as Almost, Always, and Again. Most of the stories are truly evocative and exceptional, and all of them are very creative, and really stretch the reader's imagination.
I'm trying not to oversell it, but this is really impressive, with a broad range of topics, time periods, and ideas. Definitely recommend.
@kimlockhartga @bookstodon Have you read Starling House?
@nixanadoo @bookstodon I did. That wasn't a favorite of mine, but I really loved The Ten Thousand Doors of January. Thought that was pretty brilliant.
@kimlockhartga @bookstodon Starling House was just the right balance of everything for me. I enjoyed it a whole lot.
I love how two people can enjoy different things from the same person!
