Pretty sure that the light novel is the original and the anime and manga are separate adaptations. You’d have to compare all three to tease out whether there are any anime- or manga-original bits.

I see your point. They are different adaptations, but not completely separate I would say. The anime is based both on the LN and the manga. The mangaka is credited as one of the author.
Moss was shown later in the episode with his ear intact, I just liked that the manga showed us how it happened.
