I feel like part of the reason for socialization is to build a safety net in case something happens. People would often know their entire neighborhood and what people did in case they needed help and it required more social contact in order to gain access to that safety net.

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I feel like being trans is harder than being cis in terms of having access to traditional means of support, so trans people have to build those means of support within their communities. It is more life or death to need friends that you can rely on if you’re trans because social systems outside of their communities will misunderstand you at best and be actively life threatening at worst.

A cis male doesn’t have a metaphorical gun to their head making them get friends.
