Not really. The distinction that has been made here is that “NSFW” only means “pornography” if it 1) takes place during a break at work and 2) does not take place on your own device. Conversely, doesn’t that mean that I can do whatever I want on my own device during my break?

I would have assumed that by now we would at least have overcome the age of puritanism sufficiently to no longer taboo sexuality. I actually watch porn on public transit, but I guess that not many people do.

No we haven’t. Largely because we haven’t overcome patriarchy and it issues also people don’t trust that people can show strong urges like that and act in a way that is respectful of their boundaries.
In the same way you and I would avoid someone yelling on public transport.
