Or, if you have Gmail and add a . Anywhere in your email, before the @ it’ll still send to you, and you can find the culprit that way

I like to use a service like Simple Login for almost everything, you get 10 free alises you can use each as many times as you like. Thenif domething like this happens you can have them delete them so they never go into your mailbox. simplelogin.io

Or put +website name after your username and before the @gmail.com to make it easier than remembering dot positions.

those tools are mainly for handling incoming mail. neither will stop the scammers and spammers from knowing your true email address, as it's still right there. an aggressive one will strip or change position of the '.' and strip or change the '+ codes' on every send.
the relay type service is better as it actually keeps your true email address behind that protective layer.
