Ever heard of a job? Some people need to work with a specific software suite as part of their job, regardless of their personal convictions :)
I have to use office and chrome on windows at work, I don’t get any choice in the matter.

But even drugs you quite literally don’t need, even though you can become chemically dependent on them, you can still break off, it’s not easy but doable. And this is software we’re talking about.
i’m not saying you shouldn’t use adobe, but i’m also not saying that you’re trying hard enough to not use them. Humans are creatures of adaption. Given the time, effort, and motivation, a considerable amount of work can be done in situations where you wouldn’t expect it.

i mean yeah, but that doesn’t mean that you have to like the tool, enjoy it, or even recommend it for that matter.
I know a lot of linux users are forced to use windows at work. And even then a lot of that hardware and software is provided, so it’s not like you have a choice anyway. OP only said 4 words, who knows what they meant.
Photoshop doesn’t really have an equal. Gimp pretends to be in the same category, but it’s light years behind.
i suppose in some regards that’s probably true (i wouldn’t know i don’t pay for adobe products). But i know people who use GIMP on the regular. Ultimately it’s more about how you use the tool than the tool itself.
