Pretty sure I read about a study where they found people that “stink” are genetically close to you, like relatives and people you shouldn’t procreate with.
People who smell nice are genetically diverse.

Eh… best lit review I could find only found that smell predicted preferences among non-birthcontrol-using fertile women. So… Smell nice around them maybe? Lit review
