Iv only ever called to reactivate Windows 7 licenses on win10, but yes they were very helpful and were quick. Didn’t try to stop me or tell me I couldn’t do it anymore.
For basic things iv heard it works, not good for more complex things.
But most people who don’t troubleshoot probably aren’t calling for anything complex.

Apart from compatibility all other features are available on Linux. You yourself said that you’ve never contacted support other than to activate Windows (which you wouldn’t need on Linux).
I recommend that you install Fedora KDE and observe how shockingly easy and polished everything is.

All features are available to an extent on Linux.
A free support service you can call is better then not having one to call.
I have years of experience with Linux, I know it can be easy, but it’s not easy for everyone.
You have never worked in IT or an enterprise level job, and you really have no clue how hopeless people are with technology.

Nice assumption. I do work in IT.

Well apologize if my assumption was wrong.
But if you do work in IT then you know how people use technology.
And my entire argument is the regular user doesn’t know how to do most things on a computer.
You have installed Linux for family, if not for your help, would you family be using Linux? Could they have installed it alone, and maintain whatever distor they were using, without help?
