Used to have one for lunch every day and it wasn’t bad at all, knew the recipe by heart at some point…
Comment on This may just not be the best packaging idea...
taiyang@lemmy.world 8 months agoMy brother managed to drink only it for a while and it gave him crazy bad poops initially but it balanced out. He’s just the soulless kind of guy it’s meant for, he didn’t miss the taste of real food in the slightest.
He’s kicked it, though, probably because it really isn’t great long term as the only thing you eat.

I lived on the Soylent bottles for quite a while, but one particularly busy active summer 2021 it landed me in the hospital because it turns out Soylent has no sodium, and if you have no sodium in your body then you end up in the hospital on a saline drip. Lesson learned and I share that lesson with everyone every time this topic comes up.

Important PSA, especially for tech bros like my literal brother. I’ll remember that!

That’s insane.
That it doesn’t have salt, I mean. I remember when this stuff first came out and it’s creator was going around talking about it and it was literally supposed to give you everything your body needed to survive.

I did the Soylent thing for 6 months for breakfast and lunch and ate normal for dinner, but after a while I just started to loathe the taste and texture. Then they jacked up the prices so I stopped my subscription.
