Comment on Reddit exodus - Using Lemmy from my existing Mastodon

One thing I don’t understand is the tagging. Every micro-blog in existence sees fit to tag every one of the other 12 participants in the thread automatically, which seems to only make things cluttered and really fucking annoying.

It is even more annoying on Lemmy clients that show every link in a comment at the bottom of the comment in easy to tap boxes. This is great for 1 or 2, but every mastodon post has everyone @ing everyone else.
I just downvote it all, block the users, and move on. That shit is annoying.

Being able to use Lemmy from Mastodon is a great in theory but it’s terrible in practice. I’ve been using Mastodon since 2019 but wouldn’t waste my time trying to use Lemmy with that account. The experience just sucks for everyone involved. Fortunately, I’ve somehow managed to figure out how to juggle two whole accounts. It’s remarkable.

Down down vote, it’s not on purpose, just the limitations of their platform

They can’t see the downvotes in Mastodon anyway, if I’m not mistaken.
(Assuming you meant to say don’t downvote)

oh, yeah, that is what I meant, but it does lower it in ranking here, even if it’s a good comment. They’re not that common, don’t let them bother you
