sj_zero 1 year agoYeah they are complaining about receiving migrants. They're complaining about not having the resources to deal with an influx of people that they never expected to get. They're complaining about resources that could be used for local populations being used on a bunch of illegal migrants.

And of course you realize that those border states Al receive federal funding and have decades of infrastructure in place for helping immigrants, but instead are using that very funding to simply drop them off in random places around the country. Even if you can’t understand humanitarianism or empathy, you can probably understand how wasteful that is.

The point is that it's easy to puff your chest out and act morally indignant when it isn't your city.
Suddenly it is your city, and the enlightened benefactors are suddenly banning busses.
A lack of empathy is the exact problem here.

It is only “my” city because gov Abbott chose it. It’s is not where people went. And if you think these cities are complaining about growing populations you’re mistaken. We are all immigrants in America. The problem is that we don’t have immigrant services set up for them. They have those things in Texas and Florida because that’s where people have been immigrating.
Nobody is upset about welcoming immigrants. Or i should say some people are, but it’s clear from the downvotes on this community that those types of people are the vast minority.

If you think redditors are representative of anything you're in for a rude awakening.
You're part of an ideologically homogenous group that is judgemental and ignorant to anyone who isn't exactly like them. Of course anyone who thinks any differently than you decides to just leave.
