Yes but you don’t really start to notice the shock absorption difference and the joint pain until you’re in your thirties or forties.

I ran track in grade 6, but I went to a poor rural school that only had a grass track. When we went to compete with the townie kids they had a paved track and as soon as I started running it was like my legs forgot how to do it. I could feel the impact all the way through my bones and joints like I was suddenly missing shock absorbers.
