dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 11 months agoAlphabet (Google and Youtube’s parent company) reported $282,836,000,000 in revenue with a gross profit of $156,633,000,000 in the 2022 fiscal year. I’m pretty sure they can afford to pay their creators what’s owed without also resorting to being shit.

The creators get a share of the ad revenue from their videos. If you block ads, you’re directly causing them to lose income.
