Musk is why we won’t consider Tesla when we get to that point. It’s also why we won’t use starlink.

paddirn@lemmy.world 8 months agoI honestly would love to buy an electric car, but Musk himself is probably the number one reason I’ll never touch a Tesla. All the other stuff just reinforces why I shouldn’t buy one, but just not wanting to give any money to that dickhead is my primary reason for not going with one. Maybe all the other car company execs are dipshits too, but they at least have the sense to not talk so much.

Starlink is an amazing service tho. I have it just for backup when the main internet goes down. Insanely useful service for working from home

For me, it was when reports were coming out that Tesla actually made repairs harder and didn’t allow shops to repair their vehicles without voiding the warranty.
It’s like if Apple sold a car. Proprietary shit can just get the fuck out.
