I had one of them from 7-eleven, it didn't do anything, but in terms of just being a phone that sits there and works that you don't need to worry about, it was top rate.
The other thing that was nice about that service provider was if you put some money on the phone, it would stay there for a full $365 days before expiring, so all you would really have to do to have a phone that worked was put 10 bucks on there every year assuming you didn't make a lot of phone calls.
