Because the good guys were executed or did emigrate to the USA after the failed revolution in the 19th century.
That (and some more) articles was an interesting read - but I would put it under the general struggles of the German intellectuals for a democracy in the ever “let’s kiss the next monarch’s ass” German society.
If anything, I learned that I now understand the term “Saupreißn” - I now absolutely despise the Prussians and everything they stood for… (I wasn’t exactly infatuated with them before, but this reading exercise made it worse)

I remember in WW1, some German units who surrendered to the Entente (not for ideological reasons, just in the normal course of war) were quick to assure Allied soldiers of their regional origin, and that they were not one of the “damned Prussians” who pushed the war. XD

If it’s bronze it should meet a can of puree tomatoes. Give the statue a terminal illness.
