I was raised Christian and am still on the church’s equivalent of their rolls. I can also tell you I only have hate for the church. Your anecdote seems to imply no one can stop being Mormon?
Speculations don’t equal truth just because it fits the narrative you are pinning for.

I am just going off basic logic along with a deep understanding of the Mormon religion. The only artificial narrative that is being constructed is by you.

I feel like the evidence points to being left. After looking into it, it seems his family said as much and his texts indicated he did it because he was tired of the hate Kirk spread. Not really gopher mentality.
But even the texts and his relationship are on shaky grounds, the administration can’t really be trusted. It’s definitely muddy.
My guess is the gopher thing was run by the gov because having an other Luigi glorified would lead to open season on the Nazis.
Could be the other way around completely but something’s definitely fishy. There was just enough released to get both sides going at each other and then nothing. The trials going on and nothing’s coming out of that either.
I’m not a bot with an agenda, I’m just conspiracy oriented lol.
