That’s not dark humor. That’s just being edgy and it’s quite unappealing.
In my culture, it’s considered bad luck to say that a disaster will happen.
It does’t hurt to respect such thing, especially if it’s such a small thing.

It’s also bad luck to ignore the obvious signs that something potentially bad could happen if no preventative action is taken. Bad happenings don’t care about beliefs or superstition.
No offense to your culture or any that view it that way, but it’s incredibly ignorant to make discussing them proactively, a social taboo.
