Visually it was probably the best episode yet. The backstory of Ju Fa and Tao Fa was really well done. I have a feeling that by humanizing them authors are readying to portray Rien as the only actual villain who coerced everybody around him to do his bidding or got rid of those who opposed him, like in case of Mei. Meanwhile Gabimaru has been bleeding out for two whole episodes now 😅

Or they can pull an
Apothecary Diaries season 2, in which the regional lord was revealed to be a puppet himself (despite having full awareness!)
Otherwise, without explaining how it came to be, Rien’s change in personality is just too out of the norm. Or at least that’s what we were to believe if we take Mei’s words for it.

With episodes lasting 5 minutes each I’m sure Gabimaru will be fine!
