“Be a man and take it” is quite the take here. Haven’t we all acknowledged that toxic masculinity is a problem?

Y’know what, this stuff is sexist. It would be completely expected and socially supported for women to defend themselves against such odd claims, but when men do this, it’s because they’re “insecure”, or “whiny”. This is nothing but the projection of patriarchal approach to men as the ones shrugging it off meant to silence them against the clear gender war bullshit.
But then again, we’re in the shitposting community.

Especially sexual assault stat. Only the penis haver can do that!

Other “stats” are also both exaggerated or omit nuance.
For example, men actually do commit 85% of murders (not 95%, though) and comprise 81% of victims, so it’s mostly men killing other men.
Not to mention the fact that among ~170.000.000 men living in the US, 13469 of them, which is 0,008%, committed murder in 2024 - and that’s in the country with high crime rate, high police violence, and quite a few gangs. The chance of a regular person to be a murderer is even lower.

If you go to the social media like Facebook and Instagram and look at stuff people post from objective point of view both sexes are equally bad at posting sexist shit. And yet if you go to real world, like a bar or some different social gathering place nothing of this shit matters. It’s just social media brainwashing by corporations which Is done just for profit, nothing else.

True! But I’m concerned that, as more young people have Internet as their primary third place and communication platform, more will be dragged into this bullshit for real, so, whether we like it or not, it’s an important place to consider.
I believe moderators should take more care to eliminate such harmful content from discussion, while we as users can take greater care to neuter it. Then we could start reclaiming normality in our communication despite the efforts do distract and engage.
