Comment on Meta: Can you please not announce every single porn community you create

I’m fine with it — and I think that it improves searchability – but the posts need to be marked NSFW, and some of the announcement posts are not, which means that people who have NSFW stuff blocked are still getting them…
My understanding is that this is something of an exceptional situation, as apparently lemmynsfw.com — the big NSFW community host — went down and the admin was supposed to be away for some months, so it’s not coming back up in at least the near future, and so it sounds like people are setting up alternatives on other instances.

I think it is too reductive that NSFW means porn. It could be nudity in arts or otherwise graphic topics or imagery that you don’t want to engage with in every situation. I follow several arts communities that frequently have NSFW post without them being pornographic or even sexual but flagged because some people browse social media where such still would be frowned upon. I think the Fediverse would benefit from having multiple flags for porn, nudity, gore, common triggers and so on instead of just one

Ah, so your porn is fine and everyone outside your kinks is a perverted freak who should be ashamed of themselves? Eat a dildo, hypocrite wanker.

What on earth are you on about?
My dude, do you believe all imagery that might be sensitive to pop up in, say, a job setting is porn? Or do you mean that in your mind there is only porn or not porn and anybody not embracing all the porn everywhere all the time is a hypocrite? And finally, do you think all nudity or other explicit imagery or imagery that could be wise to flag as a NSFW or a some sort of trigger warning is for the purpose of arousal?
And hey, that entire shaming thing is all in your own head. Maybe you should ask yourself where it came from and why it made you so angry. Because I really don’t care what kinks you have. You do you and that goes for everybody. Just respect each other. Is that shaming? Maybe if your kink is a persecution fetish and you are desperate for some attention.
This topic was about the flood of NSFW materials scrolling across the screen entirely unmoderated. I don’t know why you guys find it so triggering.
