I always read about how the beauty of the fediverse is that if you don’t like an instance and communiry you can move. It magically disappear when it is about palestine.
I have no beef with people who still want to stay on feddit.org. It is my personal opinion and decision
The beauty of the fediverse is also to be able to interact with communities from different instances, to avoid recreate community on every instance, and fragment the small activity there is on a topic.
At the moment, on the “buy european / buy from EU” topic, there are
!buyeuropean@feddit.uk : most active community
!buyfromeu@feddit.org : the one you want to cancel
!buyfromeu@europe.pub : small one that exists before a single mod thought it was worth it to recreate yet another buyfromeu community
!madeineurope@lemmy.zip : made by someone that disagreed with !buyeuropean@feddit.uk , seems like they stopped posting shortly
and now !buyfromeu@lemmy.dbzer0.com
That topic isn’t that active in the first place. There are a few posts a day. Moderation is okay. There doesn’t seem to be a need to create yet another community.
Note that there are cases when new communities need to emerge due to power tripping mods. But here, the feddit.uk mods and admins have been good, no such issue to be reported.
In another comment, Graine this about feddit.org and feddit.uk
I don’t know anything about .uk, but it has the same name as .org which isn’t a good look if they’re different.
As most of the people already know, lemmy.ml and lemmy.world are quite different.
So yeah, if you want to create another community, it’s of course your right, but expect the few people who have been keeping the most active community alive for a year to question your choice.
I only talked about my personal reason i didn’t encourage anybody to do the same as me.
The beauty of lemmy is that you can block what you don’t like if you think this new community is useless you can simply block it
Db0 has proven to be a real ally to Palestinians and their struggle for liberation from settler colonialism and zionism. I know for sure that saying is there any non german products alternstive will not be considered xenophobia

FYI @maam@feddit.uk

!buyeuropean@feddit.uk stands against zionists.
If people have direct evidence about the mods being genocide supporters then we would look into removing them.
