Hello,
Why not use !buyeuropean@feddit.uk ?

- https://feddit.org/u/buyeuropean was the first account of https://lemmy.ca/u/buyeuropean , who was the maintainer of https://buy-european.net/en (now inactive). They don’t seem active anymore, they should probably be removed
- https://feddit.org/u/circledot modlog is literally empty: https://feddit.org/modlog?userId=4490620 , are you planning to recreate every community that has a feddit.org mod?
FYI @maam@feddit.uk

!buyeuropean@feddit.uk stands against zionists.
If people have direct evidence about the mods being genocide supporters then we would look into removing them.

I always read about how the beauty of the fediverse is that if you don’t like an instance and communiry you can move. It magically disappear when it is about palestine.
I have no beef with people who still want to stay on feddit.org. It is my personal opinion and decision

The beauty of the fediverse is also to be able to interact with communities from different instances, to avoid recreate community on every instance, and fragment the small activity there is on a topic.
At the moment, on the “buy european / buy from EU” topic, there are
- !buyeuropean@feddit.uk : most active community
- !buyfromeu@feddit.org : the one you want to cancel
- !buyfromeu@europe.pub : small one that exists before a single mod thought it was worth it to recreate yet another buyfromeu community
- !madeineurope@lemmy.zip : made by someone that disagreed with !buyeuropean@feddit.uk , seems like they stopped posting shortly
- and now !buyfromeu@lemmy.dbzer0.com
That topic isn’t that active in the first place. There are a few posts a day. Moderation is okay. There doesn’t seem to be a need to create yet another community.
That’s a point I addressed 11 months ago already: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/39614799
Note that there are cases when new communities need to emerge due to power tripping mods. But here, the feddit.uk mods and admins have been good, no such issue to be reported.
In another comment, Graine this about feddit.org and feddit.uk
I don’t know anything about .uk, but it has the same name as .org which isn’t a good look if they’re different.
As most of the people already know, lemmy.ml and lemmy.world are quite different.
So yeah, if you want to create another community, it’s of course your right, but expect the few people who have been keeping the most active community alive for a year to question your choice.

I would rather db0 over feddit, we already have !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com and a track record of not tolerating nazi bars and a hard line stance against zionism.
Blaze@piefed.zip 18 hours ago
Are you implying feddit.uk is a nazi bar? @flamingos@feddit.uk
flamingos@feddit.uk 18 hours ago
Nazi bar is certainly a new one. I honestly don’t even know what we’ve done to deserve the accusation, I think we’re being confused with .org here.
I don’t mind if people want nothing to do with us, but I’d appreciate it if it was for stuff we did. Like, I don’t think I can credibly be called a Zionist. Someone once nuked their whole instance because I pushed back on the whole criticising Israel = antisemitism thing!
Grainne@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 hours ago
Hi, sorry that wasn’t so much a “You’re a nazi bar instance” as it was a “I like that dbzer0 doesn’t tolerate them” if that makes sense. But yes your name is a bit confusing as well!
Grainne@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 hours ago
I don’t know anything about .uk, but it has the same name as .org which isn’t a good look if they’re different.
What I do know is that dbzero has policies I agree with. As an Irish anarchist I would rather use it over an instance that may be forced to follow British laws.

Feddit.it and feddit.nu are in trouble now.
Blaze@piefed.zip 15 hours ago
By that logic, aren’t lemmy.ml and lemmy.world the same?
