Nope. It’s kinda a hold over from when we used four limbs. It might have some benefit potentially but it also comes with massive health disadvantages that we pay for later in life.
But, then again, evolution isn’t really concerned with “later in life”. So long as you can reach maturity and procreate then everything that happens afterwards is irrelevant to the evolutionary chopping block.
