I can’t remember the details but I remember reading something about this. In the evolutionary sense there’s a trade off for our big sophisticated brains. We’re not born fully developed, we need another year or so just to build out the wiring and muscles necessary to walk even.

It might not really be in the spirit of the post, but it’s because of the brain. They take a lot of power to fuel, so to keep that big brain running, we have to skimp on things like mobility. Babies can be pretty dumb, but, they’ve been learning a LOT. They just can’t tell you about it yet, but they will soon, because unlike the pig, they are listening and they are learning.

Yeah, they are comparing food animals at their best against humans at their worst.
