There’s certainly genes that make some people less empathetic, making some more likely to be psychopaths.
If only those genes could disappear without anyone noticing.

I always like talking about the myth of the genius. Intelligence is not a ‘talent’ but something that has to be fostered, and there are many forms of intelligence.
What we’re encountering more and more I feel is that there is a stark lack of any degree of teaching people emotional intelligence in our communities, leaving the responsibility on parents who often more than not don’t have the tools or have been actively conditioned not to teach emotions. (Eg. ‘boys will be boys’)
How many of these people we claim lack the ability to feel empathy have ever seen a therapist in good faith to learn why they feel certain ways and how to channel that productively?
We need more mental health programs and more accessibility to make more people aware of their affect on others.
And for those that have no interest in learning to regulate and understand themselves and their effects on their communities and families are childish and their opinions can be dismissed.
I want a kinder world that learns to help each other and why that’s important, evidenced by the people around them that help them every day.
