Not even that, he depends on their system so won’t leave it. His job depends on their software so he is tied to it and won’t make any real effort to get away from it.

I’m not entirely sure this is true? If everyone migrated to Linux, tech publications like the verge would become more important, not less, because they would’ve have the company that publishes the software to compete with for page view.
