Ya know… if they had spent a single second on the story instead and maybe made a cohesive plot that followed anywhere close to the first instead of phoning in the bullshit they did…it might have been a bit more well received.

im guessing outer worlds 2 has a similar story to borderlands 4? which if so im definitely not interested lol

  Never played BL4…so can’t comment. As far as OW2… they had a decent bit of potential to work with…and instead went a different route entirely

I read this review and absolutely agreed with it.

Fallout works because they wrote a really compelling real world. Then, they sprinkled jokes.

Outer Worlds went the other direction. They wrote jokes, and tried to build a world around that. The Borderlands comparison is accurate.

And it’s not like the world lore sucks. Using Borderlands as an example: Tales from the Borderlands focused on a compelling story first.

Which is kind of crazy because I don’t understand how they made the original Fallout 1&2 and New Vegas. Like, they created this style of storytelling.

  I’m not super hip on dev team rosters… so I may be talking out my ass… but i wonder if nothing of that Obsidian is left?
