It does indeed only work on opioids. However, at least in my area a lot of the other street drugs are laced with fentanyl. Giving Narcan to someone ODing on a laced drug would temporarily reverse the OD for fentanyl but do nothing for the primary drug. Still probably enough to save their life, though.

Narcan doesn’t eliminate being high in any sort of psychological or emotional way. It blocks opioid effects by flooding available receptors and preventing opioids from attaching to them.
It’s like a box of those outlet socket protectors people use to baby proof a home…on a microscopic level.

My brother was a heroin addict so we have Narcan around my younger brother came home extremely ripped off of weed that is why i asked.
